You have to like a movie with lines like, "Elvis isn't dead. He just went home."

Such is Men In Black a comedy-science fiction, (note the order, this is a comedy first and foremost), starring Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones.

The Men In Black (or MIB) is a government agency, that no one knows about, that polices and tracks all extraterrestrial aliens on Earth. Now you're probably wondering why all of this can be happening and no one knows about it. Well, they have that angle covered. There's this gizmo that, when flashed into your eyes, erases your memory for a specified time. Anyone leaving MIB has their memory zapped for the entire time they were with the agency.

This is cute stuff, with all sorts of weird aliens, and completely deadpan humor. Again, this is a comedy that never lets the science fiction get in the way.

The Monster in the New Edgar Suit

that's driving the plot is a giant cockroach (even bigger than you normally see in New York City) running around in a brand new "Edgar" suit. Edgar isn't the designer; he's the last guy to own the skin. The bug is stealing some lame trinket that's supposed to be the universe. Some other aliens will blow up the Earth to stop the bug. Yeah, I know, big holes here in plotland. But that's not what you're here for. You shelled out $50 (including what you bought at the snack bar) to see Mr. Smith and Mr. Jones go to town in this black flag comedy.

Take the kids

Men In Black presents non-realistic violence and no terribly strong language except one "ass" and one "shit." I'm sure little Johnny hears much worse in his math class.

All in all, the bad guys get swatted and it's Miller Time for the Men In Black.
