Film Review - Porky's
Remember the 70's when Hollywood didn't really have a clue? They only knew that on a date the boy usually chose the movie. Therefore movies needed to be made for 17 year old boys. With this piece of marketing gold, movies like Porky's got made.
Porky's has everything a 17 year old wants. Rowdiness, and naked girls. There's not much more to this film. It's supposed to be a slice of life movie taking place in the 50's in Florida. All the boys want to get laid. They think going to Porky's roadhouse will give them a chance. Porky has other plans, taking the boys' money and kicking them out. A war ensues. The boys loose every battle except the last.
Meanwhile in gym class. The teachers are screwing their brains out, and the boys are peeping toms watching the girls take showers. Even for the 70's Porky's was pushing the envelope displaying full frontal nudity of the girls in the showers.
That's it. There's nothing more to this film. No deep message. No uplifting feelings at the end. Porky's is pure teen exploitation. There are better ways to spend your time.
