Film Review - Abbott and Costello Go to Mars

Apparently, in the 1950's people slapped each other quite a lot. That's the principal joke in this film. When in doubt, slap someone.

Anyway, Abbott and Costello are a couple of buffoons who stumble onto a rocket and land in New Orleans, which they mistake for Mars. Everything is a comedy of errors. Then when they think they are headed back to Earth, they really go to Venus where they find that men have been banished. Of course in 1953 no one was going to admit this was a front for a lesbian colony.

This is okay, but I think The Three Stooges were funnier. After all, they had a wider range of comedy. They poked each other in the eyes!
